TEST #1 – Noman Aqil 10 Links to Maps Shortener

FAIL.

Only one website was recorded.

Further testing is needed for a strong correlation.

Everyone knows what a big fan I am of Domains Highway backlinks. Organically they have ALWAYS moved the needle for me at a price no one else can compete with.

I wanted to try backlinks direct to the maps shortener link, to see if that resulted in a maps boost.

Results FAIL… to move the local needle in the short or medium term when hitting cheap but reliable vendor links to the maps shortener.

Slight decline organicly, but attributed to time elapsed more so than test fail.

Still, this is one of my STRONGEST BUY recommendations, and I use these links for almost every lead gen campaign.

TEST #3 – Lucas Heinz cheap pbns 10 for $110

FAIL.

I wanted to test a few “well-reviewed” vendors on legitt.com

For these lead gen websites, we always want a cheap way to move the needle.

No rock was not worth unturning.

RESULT: FAIL

TEST #4 – Rob Rok Links aka Rank club

EPIC PASS.

These guys have always done well for me moving the needle.

About 70% of the time I get a bump, and when I don’t, I cancel the rental and try another one.

More results on this will be posted, but Rank Club doesn’t need my confirmation. GREAT service to use, and cost to benefit is there for lead gen, especially with a rental model that allows you to cancel if they don’t work, and if the links die in 5 months, the rank club knows and will cancel your rental fees.

With most permanent links, it’s hard for you to know the link has disappeared unless you’re tracking your backlinks on all your lead gens.

GREAT RESULTS. FLAWED TEST PROCEDURE.

However, the test was slightly flawed since the 120-day web20ranker gig running in the background likely boosted results.

Sorry for the double variable test.

Notes: The web20ranker 120-day gig I had running in the background is like cheating. So much so there is not even a need to have its own test. I do it on EVERY lead gen to lay a base.

Worth noting…

For 5 of my orders, I got the same blog that started with a, and made me wonder if everyone who fulfilled orders started with the same list and they worked their way down the top.

All subsequent orders I now say, don’t use the following…

and I put in every link I’ve got from them (cause I don’t want footprints) and it works fine.

Just keep track of what links they give you in a notepad, and request to not get those links on each order, and keep building your “no” list.

TEST #6 – Magic Press Release Bronze package $199

FAIL.

I’m gonna make these results short.

Danced.

Scared me.

one location modifier and all keywords related slightly higher. others less slightly lower.

RESULTS: FAIL. SUPER SLIGHT GAIN Not worth $199

2 more tests on magic press release are necessary for more conclusive results.

Small possibility needs more time with 60 days tiered linking structure, but I ordered 11.19.18, and results are based on 2.5.19 so…

TEST #7 – Marketers Center Citations

FAIL.

Tried to give me 50-word descriptions, all poorly spun with characters out of place. 2 weeks and 4 emails asking to fix resulted in the same thing being presented to me for approval, frustrating me greatly.

Web20ranker may not be up to the caliber of doing it yourself and handwriting unique content, but the index rate of citations and size of content makes for the 80/20 of results and PERFECT for our lead gen sites.

Test #8 – 5 for $199 Niche Edits Serp Ninja. 

Nice wholesale cost. 
One of the cheaper sources of niche edits, if the owner is a bit of a pill to deal with.

Positive results. This was the test that I didn’t wait for enough before hitting with Domains Highway Noman Aqil links and with the 2 vendors COMBINED, got positive results for under $270

Pass with the caveat that I didn’t record before and after well enough, and may have been supplemented by domains highway.

I will let you know my FAVORITE source for niche edits later on.

The rd400+ option is a little more, but the link profiles of every backlink i’ve ever gotten with that option have been SUPER CLEAN.

Like real local businesses, the strongest in their area. Awesome content on-page.

That 400 referring domain requirement really cuts the crap as far as backlink quality.

“Best niche edit backlinks I’ve ever seen” were in my notes.

I have now bought literally 20+ 5 packs and singles here and there and I always get positive movement.

Test #13 – James Gregory backlinks

PASS.

Will dig up keyword movement test numbers.

99 percent sure it’s the same people as kanga, SERP ninja, and possibly one other. Still…

Among the best support of all the niche edits providers.

Rumor has it there is one or a few companies that service niche edits for a lot of people, but just different retail outlets.

If you need hands-on service, I did get good service from James Gregory, and even follow-ups two weeks later asking if I wanted more links.

Sound salesy? To me, it shows there is a real company behind you, ready to serve, new links, or supporting your order.

Test #14 – Kanga niche edit backlinks 5 for $159

FAIL. 

No movement.

I even got a “sixth” backlink as an early Christmas present.

Not sure why.

It is DEFINITELY the same back-end dashboard, if not also the user interface between backlinks.io at James Gregory and SERP ninja.

Links should have had some juice.

I have a feeling it was an anomaly.

Literally could have been my fault, and something that Marie and Moon would fuss at me over on-page not right.

Still…

Just reporting what I see.

8 organic for the main keyword stayed 8th.

Not bad people, just didn’t do it for me, and already fell in love with another vendor.

This was honestly not a fair test.

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it.

You could have ordered any single backlink yourself, and then hit it with 30 cheaper tier 2 links.

But as a busy person running an agency, I didn’t have to.

And it didn’t cost me anymore for convenience either.

It was a fair price.

They often run sales with coupon codes.

It moved the needle like a motha’

It’s one of the best most effective links you can do to “cheat” for a white hat client.

The client sees a nice clean guest post.

Links like a motha’ coming to it, pushing your rankings higher.

The only caveat to be mentioned is that in Test 1 everything was allowed to age 90 days to make sure everything got indexed, when most of my tests we wait 6 weeks to move the needle.

Time sometimes helps an 18-month-old website, but not THAT much.

Every keyword got a maps bump when most of the time backlinks push organic harder.

But I’ve never had a single link get 75% of my keywords in the top 3 before.

I’m not impressed when a backlink moves me from 13 to 10.

I am when it moves me from 5 to 1, leapfrogging Yelp and Homeadvisor, who was my only “real” competition left to outrank.

With a single backlink, pushed by the 2nd tier.

Highly recommend.

TEST #17 – Traffic Bot – GMB Automated GMB Traffic

I was super excited to test this one. And Really disappointed when it didn’t work out. There was ots of buzz around this in 2018. It just didn’t pan out for me and I tried on 8 different test subjects.

I won’t call it a hard fail, cause there may be a technique to it.

It just didn’t work for me running my own bot.

Started testing approx Feb 7, 2019

There are some smarter people than me saying they’re getting something.

I remain to be convinced.

TEST #18 – Rank Solutions on Konker – 15 Premium PBNs for $200

Organic 11 to 2 (sorry missed middle data. These are two months apart)

Maps Went from competitors having the one pack, to #1 in the one pack, to having the one pack ourselves. INSANE!

I majorly did not single variable test this, so I will continue to test Rank Solutions on Konker. But he did help some of them. The most extreme rankings gains I’ve ever had.

Also, we may be on to something here boosting the citations. 🙂

This is a medium to long-term play.
